Certified Purse Nerd does Bucket Bag-o-Palooza

I have a birthday coming up soon.
And you can bet it's ALL about a new purse.

I've decided to invest in a bag I can love for a long time and have spent time analysing my favourite purses—the shape, the pockets, the straps—making me
a Certified Purse Nerd (CPN).

During this extensive research process I decided I want a purse that I can shove everything into, while keeping my hands free, but not looking like a traditional "work" bag.

My CPN Conclusion? The Bucket Bag.

Max Mara at Bloomingdales, $755

Lanvin at Kirna Zabete, $2490

Michael Kors at Bloomingdales, $170

Saddlers Union at Saks Fifth Avenue, $890

Diane Von Furstenberg at Nordstrom, $545

Alexander McQueen at Net-a-Porter, $1555

Elliott Lucca at Nordstrom, $168

Jeffrey Campbell at ssense.com, $275

Sydney Love at bags, $54

Alexander Wang at ssense.com, $825
Marc Jacobs at Net-a-Porter, $470

Miu Miu at Net-a-Porter, $895

and now.....my dream bag....
Vintage Chanel at ShopBop, $2860
But since I can't spend house payments on a purse, I am opting for the Alexander Wang Diego Bag in black with rose gold hardware (also shown above in yellow).

Alexander Wang Diego Bag at ShopBop, $825

My CPN Analysis also confirmes that if I use it
5 months out of the year, over the next 3 years, it only costs me $1 a day!

What do you think? Did I choose well?
How often do you change purses? Every Day? Weekends? With every outfit? Never?
Which of these would you choose?

Met Gala 2012

Rachel Zoe in Rachel Zoe

I don't normally post on celebrity events. There are so many people out there doing it much, much better than myself.

But I was insanely inspired by the colour and beauty of these gowns—I love the union of fashion and art and wanted to share
with those of you who might've missed the coverage of the Met Gala.

Anna Wintour wearing Prada
Jessica Alba in Michael Kors

Eva Mendes in Prada

Caroline Trentini in custom Theyskens by Theory
Ivanka Trump in Peter Pilotto

Cutest Couple EVER? Jessica Biel in Prada & Justin Timberlake

Emily Blunt in Calvin Klein & John Krasinski
Amy Fine Collins in Alice + Olivia

Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney
Giovanna Battaglia

Emma Stone in Escada

Diane Kruger in Prada
Sofia Vergara in Marchesa

Milla Jovovich in Prada

Hailee Steinfeld in Miu Miu

Victoria Justice in McQ by Alexander McQueen

Alexis Bryan Morgan

Renee Zellweger in Emilio Pucci

This post isn't about running out and buying designer gowns (for those who can afford it), but to inspire and encourage readers to examine the images, study the photos to see how they can inspire and be interpreted in your daily wardrobe.
Florals, Brocade, Metallic, Vintage Style, the trends here (and on runway) easily translate to everyday clothing and likely to items that are already in your wardrobe!

1. Do you have a favourite gown?
2. What DREAM Designer would you wear if you were going to the MET BALL and $$$ were no object?
3. Do any of these looks inspire you in your daily wardrobe?

My answers:
1. I love Rachel Zoe's fringe vintage-inspired (1st photo)
2. Lanvin, Marchesa or Alexander McQueen.
3. The second to last photo has inspired me to look for a vintage-inspired floral wrap with a light background.

72 Reasons to Check Out 72Minutes

Ok, I'm not really going to list 72 reasons, but have you checked out 72M yet?

It's a FREE online magazine that covers a variety of topics women want and need to know about.

Tongue-in-Cheek Editor Dinah Sackey explains the concept behind the content.
"According to totally pointless carefully researched statistics produced by hard to employ working scientists, using made-up world renowned formulae, women take, on average, one hour and 12 minutes to get ready
for a big night out."
"That’s 72 Minutes to you!" she adds.

The magazine appeals to fashionistas, stylistas, chocaholics and shopaholics addressing all the roles women play including chauffeurs, money managers, cooks, cleaners, therapists, CEOs and MDs...
and the list goes on.

72M Magazine is dedicated to bring readers a little bit of everything including
tips, tricks and insights on how to squeeze the best out of every minute you have.

And on page 31 you will find my contribution,
"Defining Personal Style in Record Time."

Please visit, check it out
and be a doll and LIKE us both
Dressology and 72Minutes on Facebook
and on Pinterest:

Issues are free to read online through http://issuu.com/72m_magazine and you can buy a printed copy at: http://www.magcloud.com/browse/magazine/155273
